i wanted to share my plans for 2013 and also get some advice from others who have gone through this process.
i have read several threads dedicated to this topic and was hoping to get some personal experiences.. i have been an inactive jw for 4 years, but my social life and association still heavily revolved around friendships built through my lifetime in the organization.
i support my wife by associating with a small group of couples from her hall that i still like and don't irritate me.

Meetup is great for exJW meetups. Otherwise, as you begin meeting people, ask them if they know where you can find others that are interested whatever, such as weird taxidermy of the night.

do you know how hard it is to get up at 6:00 am and how expensive those magazines are costing the organization to print?
please stop defiling our literature, i dont post hateful stickers on your website so please leave my magazines alone.

Whenever I had financial problems, I didn't run onto the platform expecting handouts from the publishers to cover my expenses for gasoline, insurance, dress clothes, cleaning bills, printing supplies, etc. In fact, I was routinely told that I need to "rely on Jehovah" and he will generously care for all my expenses. Similarly, your CO, and in fact the branch as well, need to learn to rely on Jehovah. Since he owns all the gold and silver, surely he can cough up a few nuggets to cover the printing expenses of his one true organization, right? After all, he's God!

You can go ahead and donate 100% or your money and time, and the CO will continue demanding, "More, More!" Like I said, he needs to rely on Jehovah and be content with His provisions, rather than relying on sinful, imperfect humans.

These stickers weren't placed by human hands, this is clearly the work of Jehovah... or Satan. Take your pick.
i have come to this site for almost a decade.
even though i do not stop by much anymore, i wonder why it has not been upgraded or changed to a more modern format.
it seems like it has basically just been left to what it was upgraded to several years ago.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Despite its flaws, this website is far better than jw.org.
like many on here, as a jw trying hard to follow the direction of the gb, i listened to the advice to pioneer and trust in jehovah to provide (mat6.33) instead of going to university.
after struggling for ages in low-paid physically-demanding jobs, i decided to become a student (thanks for the encouragement on here guys!).
i tell a jw i wish i had been to university when i was a teenager, and put all that pioneer time into studying hard for a good grade, get a good job, and if i had wound up tired as i am now, at least i would have been paying into a mortgage on a home and pension.
JW: Wow that's really good. You see, Jehovah is really blessing you now for all those years you spent pioneering. Jehovah's blessing is rich! [Repeated several times during the conversation for emphasis]

It's funny how richly Jehovah is blessing me now that I'm no longer in bethel, not serving as an elder, and have stopped attending meetings.
hey i just read on another thread that they dont study the truth book or the paradise book anymore.. omg when i was a dub i was always trying to get studies with the paradise book.. .

Don't wear yourself out or beat yourself up. I appreciate Blondie's Comments as an opportunity to see what is getting force fed to my family and old friends. The interesting observations by Blondie and others have helped me to be prepared with some thoughtful remarks for changing what may be infecting their minds.

I don't think that the point of this article or the next is to actually praise Jesus in any meaningful way. Jesus isn't their king, he's a tool for promoting WT authority. I suspect that the next article will get right to the point that they are talking about Jesus humility and obedience to Jehovah as setting the example that JWs should be humble and unquestioningly obedient to "Jehovah's spirit-directed organization."
WT doesn't seem to be capable of writing anything unless it ultimately directs attention to the GB and slavery to their organization.
